Starfire Records is an independent record label based in San Francisco, which focuses on a hybrid of electronic and indie music with broad appeal. The premise of the label and its first release is an "electro-organic" sound where the artists combine electronic music with live instrumentation and vocals. Starfire feels that there is a void in the market that they are aiming to fill and that there is a bridge between electronic and more "human" music.
Starfire Records launched its first release titled "Electro-Organic Vol 1" on July 31, 2001 and are planning a schedule of full-length releases this spring. The CD is being played on college radio in many cities across the US. "Electro-Organic Vol 1" is carried in stores nationally through Axis Media Productions (formerly Pangea Music) and distributed nationally through Navarre. "Electro-Organic Vol 1" is a compilation of 6 artists from across the country and Japan. Cellophane Masses, Trystero and Hoverspace are based in San Francisco, Chilldren ov Paradise are located in Japan and San Francisco, Coppe' is from Phoenix and MFH is from Dallas.
Our promotional campaigns include internet, radio, press, retail and release parties. Besides traditional promotional means, our promotion efforts have also included aggressively seeking licensing opportunities in television, film and multimedia and offer major label quality at affordable rates. With our first release "Electro-Organic Vol. 1", we have already licensed music to Fox TV's "Malcolm in the Middle", "Halloween 8", ESPN's "X Games", MTV's "Making the Video" and "Road Rules".
The founding team behind Starfire have worked in the music business many years and are composers themselves. They know quality music and together, with great marketing, plan to bring great music to the world.
